The Neolithisation of Western Europe is marked by the introduction of domesticated plants and animals, often assumed as an homogeneous process. Nevertheless, this process was not linear and it adopted different rhythms and dynamics in each geographical area, showing different scenarios. To explore the role of pottery technology in the Early Neolithic and its direct link with the subsistence practices we provide the first survey of the use of early pottery in the Iberian Peninsula considering the available organic residue analysis on extracted lipids.
